The poor in Spirit

There is a very intriguing biblical portion for me, and it is where it talks about "the poor in spirit", for a long time I did not understand anything about what this verse was referring to when saying "blessed is the poor in spirit", I thought it was literally referring to the person who had a poor spirit, or little spirit, but does not refer to this at all, rather it refers to poverty of interest in material things, to the person who does not have a greater concept of himself than he should have, but He is humble of heart, he who is not haughty and does not put his trust in earthly riches but rather in heavenly riches, the word says that those who are poor in spirit are blessed, (Spiritually prosperous, and worthy of being admired) .

Just like the word blessed, it means; happy, gifted and blissful, this speaks of those who are like this, they are owners of the kingdom of heaven, but what it really refers to is that they will enjoy the benefits of the reign of God, (happy). In simple words this verse is translated as follows; "Blessed and happy is he who is spiritually prosperous, who does not set his eyes on the riches of the world, but on the heavenly ones, whose greatness is measured by his heart and not by what he has in his pocket"

It is incredible the emphasis that the Bible makes when it talks about the condition of our heart, that we do not think greater of ourselves than we should, that we can do everything in Christ and that we do not believe we are self-sufficient, the Lord wants us to be dependent on Him, that we need Him, that He is the one who governs our lives and that we do not believe we are the protagonists of the movie.

How beautiful is this, the best thing in the life of a human being is to be able to trust a King who can do everything and that watches over the safety and well-being of its people, that they will lack nothing. Think; What is the success of any government? That its people do not go hungry, or have deficiencies, that the health system is excellent, that there is no shortage of jobs or food, that it has an exceptional retirement plan, that no one steal from its people, that there is citizen security, that its people can pay taxes with pleasure because they know that they are receiving back what is fair, that it has the assurance that their family will be safeguarded if something happens, because the people trust that the president and its government will do everything possible So that their people is well, this is what it is about, God does not seek to reign over you just because, and not give you the benefits of his reign, on the contrary, it is His delight to be able to take care of you and even serve you because He is sovereign, because just as a president is due to His people, likewise, is the commitment of the all powerful over us, not because He has to do it, but because He likes to do it, God is King, not just another ruler, a king cannot be overthrown, his legacy prevails forever, how much more our King of kings and Lord of lords.

With this, do not believe that I am promising you an abundant life full of riches and that nothing bad will ever happen to you, I would be lying to you and I did not come here to give you vain promises that are not Biblical, there will always be situations and circumstances in our lives that not even God can get in and control, not because he can’t solved them but because He has a purpose to it, or because He has to allow things to keep it course, because remember that this world is subject to sin and is reigned by the evil one, but what I can assure you is that the Lord promises a life in His kingdom, and that you will enjoy the benefits of His salvation And that even on this earth you will never be alone.

““Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].” Matthew 5:3 AMP
