¿what did you say?

Do you know the repercussion of the words of your mouth? Do you know how far their power and influence go? Next, I will be talking about the importance of our words supported by the bible.

The wheel of creation

“And the tongue is [in a sense] a fire, the very world of injustice and unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our members as that which contaminates the entire body and sets on fire the course of our life [the cycle of man’s existence] and is itself set on fire by hell (Gehenna).” James 3:6 AMP

When the word speaks of the wheel of creation it speaks specifically of the reason and the motive for which we were created, the original plan of God for our lives, and perhaps it sounds very simple, but it is not.

This implies many things, it implies religion, relationship, interpretation and salvation, many people throughout the centuries with their sayings have manipulated the word of God, and have imposed their own doctrine for convenience, the word of God has been distorted and has popularized the word of man, new doctrines and even new religions have been created just because a man said this or that thing and a group of people believed the sayings of this man, some examples of this is the creation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Adventists, different denominations of the evangelical church, in the same way the different denominations of the Catholic Church, among others. All this because of the belief of a particular man who wanted to mold religion to his own convenience and created a revolution with it, as well as Martin Luther with the Protestant church which is where the evangelical church comes from today. With this I am not saying that religions are bad in general, what I am saying is that some are closer to the word of God than others, after all they are all doctrines of men.

Jesus did not come to create a religion, Jesus came to give us salvation, but this is another topic, which I will be talking about in another blog.

I wanted to touch on this particular topic to imply how much our sayings can affect even an entire generation, this is specifically what the word refers to when it speaks of the wheel of creation, since everything is affected by the sayings of our mouth.

- “For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the human tongue; it is a restless evil [undisciplined, unstable], full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. These things, my brothers, should not be this way [for we have a moral obligation to speak in a manner that reflects our fear of God and profound respect for His precepts]. Does a spring send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Nor can saltwater produce fresh.” James 3:7-12 AMP

The above denotes quite the intention of our heart and what we are full of, what abounds in it is what we will talk about, if your heart is full of resentment, anger and strife, you will talk about that, if it is full of lack of gratitude and discontent, you will spend your life complaining about everything and you will not find satisfaction in anything.

We must be very careful with the things that come out of our mouth, since it is very difficult to retract yourself after having offended someone or something compromising has been said.

As the previous verse says, the tongue is a fire. Just in this 2020 we have seen some more closely, others just because of the news how devastating a single spark can be, we saw it with the fire in the Amazon in Brazil at the beginning of the year, we saw it with the fire in Australia, and now We see it with the fire in California, some created by the same terrible heat wave that has done in some of these places and others created by the lack of awareness of some people as was the case in California, where the fire originated in Cause of a gender reveal in which they used pyrotechnics (what a memory they will have for the rest of their lives), however in the same way are the fires that our tongue creates, many times there are things that are natural and that come from the heart because of the abundance of it, as we mentioned before with the Amazon and Australia, and others are due to the recklessness and lack of tact of some when speaking of the fire in California, but in one way or the other, in both situations the consequences have been devastating and in the same way it happens when we give free rein to our tongue and do not realize what we are saying.

If we continue with the same example of forest fires, we know that unfortunately there have been human losses, and not only human but also extreme damage to our fauna and flora, one of those that has most affected our environment due to its importance worldwide was the fire of the Amazon, since the Amazon represents the lung of the world, its capacity to create oxygen to our land is more than 30% that is a lot considering the amount of flora and forests around the world. With that said, if we look back at the damage that our tongue could cause to a person, if we really realized the damage that our tongue can cause to our life, we will shut up, once I read that it was not by mistake that GOD gave us a single mouth and two ears, since we should listen more and speak less.

What we confess and what we declare

Definition of confess: 1. Declare an error, a fault or a crime committed, especially before the police or before a judge or a court of law. "the police have not yet managed to get them to confess, but the evidence of guilt is decisive. 2. Declare something that was kept secret for any reason. "He confessed to me that he was at his house for a few days, but I don't care"

Similar definitions are empty the heart, declare, acknowledge, manifest.

When we confess something with our mouth it is usually a fact you will see (each rule has its exception), or that we believe it is true, such as when we confess our sins or when we make the confession of faith.

The confession of faith in particular, is about something that you believe in your heart and you know to be true therefore you confess it to declare to the world about your position and your belief.

Definition of declaring: 1. Asserting or exposing something publicly. "the government spokesman declared at a press conference that they would take measures against fraud". 2. Manifest [a judge or other authority] their decision about someone's rating or some matter. "the judge found the alleged murderer guilty"

Other definitions are expose, explain, manifest, say, proclaim, promulgate, judge.

The word declare can be used synonymously with confess, but they are used with different intentions, but in the end, they have similar meanings.

“The tongue of the wise speaks knowledge that is pleasing and acceptable, But the [babbling] mouth of fools spouts folly.” Proverbs 15:2 AMP

Basically, here we can see clear definitions of how important these two actions are in our lives, therefore we must be careful about the use we make of them, when we declare or confess something, it is about what is already done, it is about what It has already been said or lived, not an action in the future or an event that has not yet been lived, what is declared is already there, what is confessed has already been.

It is the same when you get married, that the father or the civil judge says "I declare you husband and wife" if we can notice in this same fact, that statement is the result of a legal act, facts that together make it possible for that particular couple they can be declared as spouses publicly, for that reason it is the use of witnesses, you cannot declare a husband and wife couple without first signing the marriage certificates, and much less without witnesses, therefore this statement is about an event that has already occurred and you see, it is never declared before the signature, or husband and wife are proclaimed before the fact as such is legal, since the words declared to be done in the opposite way, do not have validity as such, in the same way without an eyewitness that supports the fact.

And we return again with the example of the confession of faith, when Christ is confessed as Lord and Savior, there must be witnesses to support the fact, since this same act is a proclamation of Christ's title to this person, the same as in the act of marriage.

It is a proclamation of heavenly property in front of the hosts of evil, in front of the enemy who can no longer touch you, since you no longer belong to him, as well as the rings that declare before the world that a person is married, that is, that he/she belongs to another, it is the seal of the Holy Spirit on a person when making the confession of faith.

The abundance of the heart

“Though his hatred covers itself with guile and deceit, His malevolence will be revealed openly before the assembly.” Proverbs 26:26 AMP

“You brood of vipers; how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.” Matthew 12:34 AMP

And these my dear readers, I think they are the verses that puts us in the most trouble, because it reveals what we are.

How many times have you talked about something and said it so much because you really lacked it? How many times did you make fun of someone, spoke ill of someone, were you arrogant, bragged or lied about things, how many times did you defend the indefensible or defend yourself as if your own life depended on it?

How many times did you take down a partner because you needed the position or to be taken into account and only by knocking down the partner could you climb? Or how many times did you offend the one who was not guilty because in your heart you were hurt because you were offended in the same way? How many times have you paid badly for bad, or you were just bad with someone who didn't deserve it? How many times did you use your tongue to deceive? How many times did you use flattering words to gain favoritism because you did not believe that with your own merits or your own effort you were going to achieve it? How many times did it happen to you that you even said things that you didn't want to say but your boss told you to say them, or did your friend ask you to lie, to cover it, how many times? How many times did you murmur or talk about your neighbor to "pray" (this is to the Christians) or even to find out how to "help" him/her and you go around boning him with everyone?

All these things speak more badly of you and of who you really are than of your brother of whom you are speaking.

“Of whom do you make fun? Against whom do you open wide your mouth and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of rebellion (sin), Offspring of deceit,” Isaiah 57:4 AMP

“Their tongue is a murderous arrow; It speaks deceit; With his mouth one speaks peace to his neighbor, but in his heart, he lays traps and waits in ambush for him.” Jeremiah 9:8 AMP

Authority

“The plans and reflections of the heart belong to man, But the [wise] answer of the tongue is from the LORD.” Proverbs 16:1 AMP

In the verse below we can see a prayer of supplication for the Lord to bring confusion over the enemies of King David. Our mouth has power and authority, authority that is only given by God, it is not that we can declare or ask for evil or justice against a person on our own, just as there are many Christians believing themselves mini gods and pretending to have the same authority From God over us, it is true that the word says that we have the authority to pierce snakes and demons and we can reprimand them, but that authority does not come from our holiness or from how spiritual we are, this authority comes only from the Most High only.

“Confuse [my enemies], O Lord, divide their tongues [destroying their schemes], For I have seen violence and strife in the city.” Psalms 55:9 AMP

We need the help of the Highest God to bear the weight of our words, in us is not the power to restrain our tongue, nor to tame it, only in God this is possible, this makes us totally dependent on Him, since we do not have the capacity to control the evil that is in us, if not for his pure mercy.

“But no one can tame the human tongue; it is a restless evil [undisciplined, unstable], full of deadly poison.” James 3:8 AMP

And finally, I want to talk about a very controversial topic, since many servants of God use this term to wage spiritual warfare or to "get rid" of unwanted things.

The Rebuke and The Decree or ordain (decree on something)

Definition of decree; 1. Decide or order something [a person or body that has the authority to do so]. "In the event of a conviction, the Judge may order the publication of this" 2. FORMAL Write down [an authority] in the margin of a document the corresponding resolution to be executed.

Other definitions are determining, resolve, order, command, decide, enact.

This I will start with a question; Since when do we have more authority than the Holy Spirit, or God himself? Since when and where does the Bible say that we have the power to decree or command something or to send a demon into the abyss or hell? Not even the angel Michael with his authority dared to speak insults against satan or send him into the abyss as many Christians have the audacity to do. Since when do we have the ability to order spiritual hosts to do something? Since when can we enact spiritual laws that are not even written in the bible? Tell me why because I think I lost myself on my laurels with this one (I'm being sarcastic).

It is true that we have the authority to rebuke, we have the authority to cast out demons and make them no longer return to the host body, but all this is given by the Holy Spirit, it is not by ourselves, it has never been.

“But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil (Satan), and arguing about the body of Moses, did not dare bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, “The Lord rebuke you!”” Jude 1:9 AMP

“But these men sneer at anything which they do not understand; and whatever they do know by [mere] instinct, like unreasoning and irrational beasts—by these things they are destroyed.” Jude 1:10 AMP

My beloveds, let's not be called irrational animals as it says in this verse above, let's be consistent and read the word so that we don't sin out of ignorance.

“Then the guiding angel showed me Joshua the high priest [representing disobedient, sinful Israel] standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at Joshua’s right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him. And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Even the LORD, who [now and ever] has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is this not a log snatched and rescued from the fire?”” Zechariah 3:1-2 AMP

This is powerful, in this previous verse we can see how the angel of Jehovah, (which in several places in the Bible alludes to be the personification of Jesus in the old testament) did not dare to utter a curse on the enemy, but who only rebuked him, even the angel of Jehovah with all his authority did not dare to say, "I decree, I declare, I command" and He had all the authority since He is God himself, how much more a simple mortal (I return with sarcasm) Is going to send a demon to the fire of the abyss?

“For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, because their words and their actions are against the LORD, to rebel against His glorious presence and defiantly provoke Him.” Isaiah 3:8 AMP

Here we have a vivid example of how a curse falls even on the people of God because of the words of their mouth, let's not play the super spiritual and let's say every nonsense we can think of, let's be very careful since we can fall into a curse because of our words.

Let's not take our words lightly or use them lightly, for God Himself takes them very seriously.

I could say a lot more about this topic but I’m going to leave it here, and ask you a question; when was the last time, you stand in judgement against someone you don't even know, and even if you do, and why? when was the last time you really made an effort to guard your tongue?
